Joanna Lamb, A Romance in 2-Dimensions (English House), 2026, acrylic on Superfine polyester, 91 x 122cm
Joanna Lamb’s paintings begin with a digital collection of photographs of built and landscaped environments gathered over many years. Revisiting these images becomes a way to consider place and the shifts that occur through recollection.
Each work is distilled into flat, coloured shapes and foregrounds colour as its organising structure. Through this translation, familiar scenes lose descriptive certainty and emerge as reflections on colour, memory and perception.
