A new series of paintings inspired by the artist reconnecting with her childhood home: Lake Grace in regional Western Australia. The works explore the power of painting to create and invite the viewer into liminal, imaginative spaces.
"Driving in salt lake country with the windows down. The flickering illusion of water on the road, a shimmering mirage, elusive and compelling. I want to get to it but know it will disappear before I arrive.
It’s also a trick and a deceit, and I’m reminded of putting one colour alongside its opposite to make their common edge ‘vibrate’."
