Eveline Kotai, Inside Forest 3 (detail), 2025, paint, linen and thread on canvas, 46 x 153cm
Panoramic paintings by Eveline Kotai trace a journey through the seasonal Karri forests of Margaret River. The works depict a changing perspective, where fleeting impressions are briefly held within the window’s frame – like fragments of memory passing in motion. Recurring themes of disintegration and regeneration underpin the artist’s intuitive practice, in which fragments of earlier works are reassembled and stitched to canvas. Each line responds organically to the last, opening space for moments of surprise and the quiet wonder of moving through landscape.
