Art Collective WA is proud to launch the first artist monograph on Eveline Kotai, in conjunction with a solo exhibition that brings together her current work and selected highlights from her 40-year career.
Traversing painting, drawing, print and stitched collage, Eveline’s work conveys technical aptitude and a deep sense of subject – leading to the production of continually unexpected colour, pattern and textural combinations.
The monograph, Invisible Threads, is the third book in Art Collective WA's publishing program, celebrating the artists that live and work in Western Australia. The book features essays by national writer and curator Julie Ewington, arts writer Nyanda Smith and author Helen Thurloe. Eveline will be signing copies of the book at the launch, on Saturday 18 May, 2pm, at our Cathedral Square gallery, with special guest John Cruthers. The book can be purchased on our website: https://artcollectivewa.com.au/publishing/eveline-kotai-invisible-threads-2019/
Eveline’s work can be found in many national collections, including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Parliament House and Wesfarmers.
