Fremantle Arts Centre presents Objet d’Art: Theo Koning and His Creative Self, a landmark retrospective honouring the late Theo Koning.

Curated by artist member André Lipscombe, this expansive survey spans more than five decades of Theo's practice, bringing together sculpture, assemblage, painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, artist books, film and collections of his repurposed materials.

Developed with the support of Theo’s friends, family and peers, Objet d’Art offers an insightful and affectionate portrait of an artist whose humour, storytelling and inventive reuse of materials have left a lasting imprint on Western Australian art.

To accompany the exhibition, a monograph published by Fremantle Arts Centre is available for purchase, offering further insight into Koning’s life, practice and enduring legacy.

The exhibition is open 10am – 5pm daily until 26 January 2026.
