Parliament House Artist-in-Residence
Joanna Lamb’s new artwork The View from Here has been officially launched at Parliament House, created during her tenure in the 2025 Parliament of Western Australia – Edith Cowan University Artist-in-Residence Program. Her vivid cityscape now becomes part of this significant visual record of WA’s civic landscape.

Murdoch University Collection — Framing Tomorrow
Murdoch University Art Collection presents Framing Tomorrow, an exhibition highlighting recent acquisitions by leading Western Australian artists. Works by Olga Cironis, Nigel Hewitt, Andrew Nicholls and Angela Stewart feature prominently in this forward-looking showcase.

Mid West Art Prize
Congratulations to Clare McFarlane, Jennifer Cochrane and Olga Cironis, whose works have been selected for Geraldton Regional Art Gallery’s biennial Mid West Art Prize. The exhibition is on view until 26 January 2026.

First Encounters
Now open at the WA Shipwrecks Museum, First Encounters examines global VOC histories through the lens of contemporary practice. Paul Uhlmann’s paintings and artist books respond powerfully to the 1629 Batavia shipwreck and Pelsaert’s journal, tracing the tension between beauty, brutality and moments of first contact. Trevor Vickers on TV
Trevor Vickers makes a screen appearance in the new BBC dark comedy–drama Reckless. Filmed across Perth and Fremantle, the series includes works from the City of Fremantle Collection—featuring Trevor’s painting as part of the original set dressing. Now streaming on SBS On Demand.
